Position: College Coach

Hours: Part-Time, 20 hours/week, primarily M-F with evenings and weekends occasionally.

Location: Virtual/in-person at times. Must be local to the Pinellas/Pasco/Hillsborough area and willing to travel occasionally.

Position Type: Part-time employee, opportunity for full-time in 2023

Compensation: $25/hour

Position Description

Cetera is seeking a College Coach that will support college students with foster care experience in the Tampa Bay area. The College Coach will support 12-15 students in an ongoing relationship using coaching, and provide short-term support to students/youth seeking financial support from Cetera. The College Coach will report to the Executive Director, and will partner with the Executive Organizer and Director of Operations at Cetera, and the Opportunity Passport Coordinator at Suncoast Voices for Children.



Responsibilities:

  • Provide regular coaching for up to 15 college students with foster care experience in the Tampa Bay area.

  • Provide outreach and resource brokering to youth seeking financial assistance from Cetera.

  • Coordinate with local partners to ensure access to resources for students being coached.

  • Complete administrative tasks associated with coaching tasks, including contact notes and financial reporting.

  • Contribute to Cetera’s College Coaching program development.

  • Attend the Fostering Success Coaching certification training sessions.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a human services related field, including social work, psychology, criminal justice or similar.

  • Minimum of 3 years experience working in a human service field with youth and/or young adults.

  • Knowledge of the foster care system, trauma-informed care, strengths-based approaches, and person-centered practices.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

  • Willingness and ability to work independently and take initiative.

  • Proficient in Google Suite and Zoom.
